On the way to Scardale, the party stopped into Chandlerscross and stayed at the Flickering Wick. There, Zera and Emmit met Bogrim Delmuth, a dwarven performer who warned Zera of a tattooed tiefling paying patrons to slander her. Bogrim countered with support for bards, and he and Zera performed together.

Meanwhile, Mr. Jingles reunited with Jasper and robbed a cobbler. Galadrathril joined them as they fought sea spawn and a sea hag who escaped with a fallen elf. That night, Emmit met a ranger hunting a horse thief, and Zera was approached by Yellarus of the Harpers, asking her to infiltrate Vernin Aldrith’s upcoming party.

In Scardale, the group saw Vernin—now a councilmember—accompanied by his lieutenants, one of which was a tattooed tiefling. As the encounter began, Emmit cast charm person on Vernin.
