With three days to spare until the Trial of Ascension, the heroes busied themselves around town. Aeraelle received a message from Cairn warning them about the Lady of Dread Omens and later garnered a tip to locate a Blood Hunter to help her find their guardians; Galadrathrill sought out information about the trials and ran into Zelhana, an old flame from Essembra; Zera went to an inn and bumped into Garoline, a paladin friend, and ruminated on her next steps in life; and Saltair was visited in a dream by a cold and menacing figure who bid him on a quest into the Feywild.

As the next full moon arrived, the Trial of Ascension began. In these trials, the party encountered a Gelatinous Cube, solved a runic floor puzzle, sped past the watchful eyes of a moving statue, and answered questions about their deepest hopes and fears. They emerged successfully from the trial some hours later and collected their rewards, which included two scrolls of Plane Shift.

While saying farewell to his mother, Galadrathrill was presented with a memory stone that replayed the moment his mother felt his consciousness and determined his birth name while resting beneath a sky of shooting stars. Myriathira promised to tell Galadrathrill stories of her past when he returned. Shortly later, after parting ways with Zera and Mr. Jingles, Galadrathrill read the scroll of Plane Shift to transport the party to the realm of the Feywild.
